New Frontier Democratic Club is the largest and oldest Democratic Club in the State of California. We are fortunate to have a majority of the regions' African American Elected Officials as members.
As President of New Frontier, I hope to continue the influential work of our past Presidents and Executive Board. They, with the commitment of our members, have expanded the role and importance of our organization in the community.
Changing demographics and social service trends combined with policy and funding changes mean that we constantly need to find new ways to address emerging issues and the resulting social service needs in our community. We need to promote opportunities for learning and sharing best practices and we need to work together differently, engaging all resources and alliances in our work.
We have a full agenda scheduled for 2007, with many exciting new initiatives planned to augment and build on the strengths of ongoing programs and efforts. The initiatives each flow from input broadly gathered from the membership over the past year, and evolve around leadership, service, and outreach in education, healthcare and grassroots organizing.
However, the real strength of our organization lies in the energy and loyalty of the membership. I look forward to working with the New Frontier Board, our committees and members to implement the objectives of our organization. Please continue to link to our website to monitor our upcoming events.
